The client was looking for a stool for their shop desk while they edit videos. Made of beech with walnut wedges for the through wedged mortise and tenon joints. Adding the custom cushion made for a really nice seat.

Shop stool commissioned for a client in Oregon. Made from beech with walnut wedges for the through mortise and tenon joints.

Texture was added to the underside of the seat to provide grip but also aesthetics.

Using a cross wedge method to provide extra strength it pushes the tenon in four directions against the mortise.

Because this stool exceeded 24" a third support was added to help stabilize the three legs.

Leg detail

I am not an upholsterer, but I gave it a go and the client was pleased with the result of the added cushion. Simply attached with a tie around each leg.
